Large offwhite head on an orange body. More acid than I expected, but quite refreshing. Actully I drank it in September when it was supposed to be best until April, but it was quite drinkable. Supposed to replace Chapmagne at New Year. I dont think it would make it, but its still quite drinkable.

Feb 10, 2008 [Courtesy of yespr, session @ yespr] Clear amber with tiny head. Flavor is sweet and packed with liquerice and fruits. Flavor is sweet with liquerice root and caramel. What a funny and unusual beer. Who said Pastice?

Jan 17, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, another great session @ yespr] Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Clear amber colour. This was like opening a candies Liquorish bag. Cough medicine. Over the palate light fruit, caramel. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavour. Liquorish lingering finish.

Dec 31, 2007 1.5L bottle, 8.8% alcohol. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and annis seed. Flavour is soft caramel malty with a touch of fruity notes and a well balanced level of annis seed to make the brew taste from it but not drown in it. Soft mellow liqourice lingering finish mixed with a mellow yeast note. Solid but not that suitable for New Years eve.

Jul 20, 2007 Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Slightly cloudy golden colour. Fruity but also herbal and spicy. Malty and sour at the same time. Definitely has some aniseed in evidence, as pretty much everyone else has noted. Odd but not unpleasant.
