fiulijn (10383) - Como, - MAR 18, 2008
Draught at Cockney Pub, Århus
Hazy copper-to-orange color with thin creamy head. It’s a good golden ale, with some caramel flavor and a quite good hopping, noticeable in the aroma (fruity and grassy) and later too (fruity and lightly resiny). It’s on the dry side. Good.

A hazy dark golden colored beer, with a thick foamy light beige head. The aroma of bitter hops, like citrus with notes of sweet. The taste is sweet, moving to bitter and fruity hops. The aftertaste is sweet with bitter.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.
Light unclear medium orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, hay, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, orange. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and shell bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090701]

Bottle. 2009 version, 5.8%. Pours a hazy amber with a big, off-white/yellowish head. Decent lacing. Nice pine hop aroma with a bit of citrus, and notes of malt in the background. A remote tart berry note builds as it warms. Flavour is malty with pine hops. A bit dry and with faint metallic notes. Bitter liquorice finish, slightly tart. Lingering grassy notes. As it warms it becomes more malty. A bit too much carbonation. 22-09-09.

The 2008 bottle was a gusher, Cloudy orange, big ever rising golden head. Apricot and tropical fruits in the aroma. Medium to light body, sparkly, yet sticky. Fruits dominate the flavor, if I did not know better I would have guessed it to be sprizzed fruitjuice. Quick finish. Pomegranate retronasal. Thanks to Josh and Sunshine for bringing the extra bottle down to Munich!

Not wanting to muddle issues here, but the reverse side label clearly states Påskefabel 2009! Very regular, dense, light-mangoyellow head over faintly veiled orange-amber beer, leaving rings of lace behind. C-hops, ureum and a blackcurrant aroma, bit dusty. Hoppy, with some citrus and other fruity hints. Actually quite fruity (citrus, strawberry, etc.) Rather light palate, beer relies totally on these fruity hops. Nice, but not a future classic - bit too predictable.

Hazy amber with a moderate amount of foam. The aroma is a bit medicinal and it would seem that some of the hop has faded out of it, but it has a nice balance and a good earthy malt character. It was likely better fresh but it hasn’t aged poorly.

Bottle, Nice orange color but the bottle was foaming at the mouth and the beer was all foam for 5 minutes solid. Aroma of mango juice, surprisingly bright and hoppy for the age. Some rust. Palate not so carbonated after being so overactive and looking so fizzy. Not bad. Definately hopped well, is assertive and feels stronger than it actually is. Tastes fruity in spite of the oxidation present. I ended up liking it.

12-JUN-2009. Bottle at Ulkløbben. Huge almost white head on golden beer with orange hue. Slightly malty nose, but also IPA/hoppy notes though not that strong. Funny easter brew. I enjoyed it.

50cl bottle @ Liva, Kolding. Pours a muddy amber with a small white head and lacings. Nose is hoppy and sweet malty. Fruity hops and quite a lot of rubber, rye and dust. Ends dry and bitter. OK

Bottle at NB-ølsymposium. Clear amber - white head. Fruity, berries, caramel, wheaty notes, spicy, light hoppy, soapy, dusty, bitterness, orange, ryebread, harbal, toasted. Strange.
