3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong coffee, roasted malt and chocolaty aroma. Strong flavors coming from the coffee, sweet taste from the chocolate. If your in downtown Nassau, it may not be worth a trip to a sketchy bar to try this, but if you can find a good enough place, definitely go for it.

Hey Michelle, donít fert, youprobably know more about beer than I do, heheh. Had this at the RB Pgh Halloween Spook-tacular Tasting/Drunkfest fall 2013, nice time at Hornydevilís place, thanks James & Michelle! Fairly mild aroma, not too volatile, was expected a rude smell. Quite strong initially on the palate. Not viscous. Ok for strong ale or a foreign stout, surprized by its effect. Not easy but OK. After a while there is a tad this medicine thing going on but over all much better than lion stout. Much better than most imperial or foriegn stouts.

This completes the "holy trinity of four" Caribbean stouts for me. Really nice stout that Iíd find difficult to put in a style slot, as it encompasses the characteristics of several styles. Too sweet to be a foreign stout, too dry to be a sweet stout, to pungent to be just a dry stout. Great mix of ingredients in the aroma and flavours, with roasted malts, chocolates, soy sauce, Marmite, blackberries and dulce de leche. Very interesting bitter-dry finish, with a perfectly sweet-creamy palate.

The aroma is chocolate, brown sugar. The appearance is deep brown, light tan head. The flavor is brown sugar, chocolate. The finish is light pine needles, some dark bitter chocolate. Medium in body, a tad thick. Decent overall.

Its not as bad as I thought it would be. Very nuetral lightly roasty chocolatey stout with some sourness. Not great but nothing too awful.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 Bottle from Fratto. Pours very dark, with a tan head. Smell isn't very strong, light hints of malts and bakers chocolate. Tastes just like it smells, stronger malts, though.

I prefer porters and stouts and was overjoyed to find this quality beer on Long Island, Bahamas. I didnít scrutinize it, ie smell it, judge for appearance, etc. I just popped the cap, tipped the bottle back and let it flow through my taste buds. Itís not a syrupy stout, but itís got more body than a porter and the flavor is great. Really pairs well as a chaser with Black Seal Rum. For a daily drinker itís a great beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This poured a lighter brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of light roast and chocolate, some some caramel too. Flavor was much the same, fairly bland, but nothing offensive, just a somewhat watered down brown porter/stout. OK.

Depends on the bottle care for sure, as I had one that tasted quite good, the other had a bit of funk. Similar to a Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, its thick and pretty tasty.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a nice frothy light brown head that had pretty good retention. The nose is sweet burnt caramel with some roast and light alcohol. The flavor is quite sweet but it works quite well in this. The burnt caramel and lactose sweetness is tempered nicely by the roastiness. The alcohol is just slightly noticeable on the finish, but the sweetness balances that out pretty well too. Fairly chewy body with soft gentle carbonation. This is probably the best of the bunch when it comes to Bahamian beer.
