4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Picked a 6 pk of 12oz bottles while driving thru Richmond, VA. The clerk said it was better than Corona (which is not saying much) so I decided to give a try. Looks and smells just like a Corona but it has more flavor. It had lots of carbonation typical of latin beers but not a bad beer at all.

I really liked this beer. I think it has a full body taste for a lager. It doesn’t need any fruit. Well chilled it is a great summer beverage.

Citrusy aroma, sparkling golden appearance, balanced taste, with a finish not too sweet and not too bitter. Profoundly better than Corona, better than Landshark, up there with Amstel Bright and Carib in this category

Beer was consumed chilled. It’s a nice, clean lager, though it does have a somewhat metallic aftertaste. Flavor is crisp (though it could be crisper and stronger), with very little aroma. I notice a lot of poor reviews noting a bad smell or taste, but my beer had neither - perhaps this is one of those beers that goes skunky fast?

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2004 Taste is not great on this one, but here me out. This is one asskicking looking bottle and label. If you want to look cool at a party carry around one of these. The label actually looks like a minor league baseball logo, on a clear bottle, it looks really cool

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a crystal clear golden color with a 2/3 finger thick white head. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is herbal hops and a bit of skunk. I kinda like it. Flavor is lightly sweetened malt and light herbal hops. Again, I kinda like it. No unpleasant lingering aftertaste. Medium body. This is a decent Pale Lager.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This strikes as yest another central American Corona knock-off, but it ends up surprising me with a nice crisp character and without the usual starchiness of some of the others from La Costancia and others. This is better than Corona.

Kind of struck me as a Corona clone, with a bit of a sweeter malt base, nicely carbonated, fresh and clean. Good beer for mowing the lawn, when it is really hot and you need a cold beer.

I suppose I should thank Skyview for this... Yellow color with a medium head. Only a little skunked aroma. The clean, corn taste is actually not all that bad. There’s nothing even good about it, except that it’s not disgusting.

Thanks to Matta for giving me the chance to try this!
This Light Lager is quite typical of many of the Lagers from Central America and Mexico that I’ve had.
It starts with a big white head that says "bye bye" real soon after it’s appearance. Very weak lemon aroma. Little flavor. What there is is somewhat sweet with almost no finish. The watery feel of this beer is also typical for the style the way they produce it in this part of the world. I think it would be a refreshing beer in a hot humid setting although it would do it better if there were more there.
