American Amber Ale
With the latest batch of Arrow Point Amber we are happy to announce the beginning of a transition of some of our beers towards WSDA Organic certification! The beer should be fully certified in a few months, but in the meanwhile we’re brewing it with all organic malts. Changes in malt availability meant a transition towards a more American-style Amber, with strong fruit and caramel notes and firm hoppiness. Certified Organic Malts: Pale, Munich, Crystal 60, Crystal 120 and Oats. Hops: Palisade, Cascade.

Serving: sampler from tap at Bainbridge Island Brewing Taproom. (When I tried this beer--January 2013--the style had been changed to an American Amber; no longer an Altbier)
Aroma: light malt.
Appearance: small, off-white, initial head with excellent lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, dark-amber body.
Taste: lightly sweet initial flavor and lightly sweet, caramel finish with average duration.
Palate: medium-full body with oily texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: pretty good.
