Pint at Toronado. This stout is a nice black color with a clear body and a fluffy tan head. The aroma is very chocolatey with American hops coming through. Not overly roasty. Nice full palate. Some coffee flavors start to come through with hoppy notes of pine. Plenty of dark chocolate keeps it well rounded. Very nice American style stout.

Sample at the tap room. Flat black color with a medium thin beige head that diminishes steadily to a dense film. Patchy lacing. Roast malt, chocolate and coffee aromas. Mediumj body with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Growler from 99bottles Federal Way, WA. Pour looks medium to full body, black with tan head. Big roast with hints of bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Finishes with hints of bitter chocolate, notes of fruit, and alcohol. Lingering bitterness and roasted malt flavor is strong but nice. Overall a nice dark stout with plenty of complexity. Adding this to my favorites; would easily pick this one up again when on tap.

Draft at brewery. pours black, tan head, nice irregular lacing. Aroma is big on the chocolate and roast. Taste follows, some sweetness, last roast bitter finish, alcohol present in the latter half of the palate. Medium body, (some dark fruits in taste), average carbonation. Overall: a totally solid, very nice stout.

Nocturne (1795) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2013
On tap at The Pine Box, Seattle. Darkish red/brown shade with a beige head. Taste and aroma are much the same. It has a big roasted malt taste, hints of chocolate and a blackcurranty liquorice element hiding behind all this. Not bad overall.
