Draft at Uber. Pours a crystal clear medium amber with a dense and creamy off-white head that sticks around for quite a while. Hugely buttery nose, very much like a freshly popped pack of microwave popcorn, just shot through with it. Slick medium body with soft carb. Toasty caramel and light piney resin, plus tons and tons of butter on the mid palate. Long buttery finish.

On tap at Bainbridge Island. Pours a copper color with white head. Hoppy, piney aromas. Bitter, caramel, hoppy flavors. Doesn’t have great hop characteristics for imperial ipa.

On tap @ Bainbridge Island, shared with jcnielsen. Pours a clear, burnt orange appearance with a cream colored head. Goopy, sappy goopy, mild caramel, orange citrusy aroma. Fairly boozy, toasted malty, caramel, tangerine flavor. Thick mouth feel. OK but a bit over the top.

Draught at Washington Brewer’s Festival, 2014. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is definitely hop dominant, with some nice floral and resin elements to it. Taste is moderately bitter, but has a slightly sweet finish to it.

Serving: sampler from tap at Bainbridge Island Brewing Taproom. Aroma: light pine hop. Appearance: small, off-white, initial head with very good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, medium-amber body. Taste: moderately bitter initial flavor and lightly bitter, grapefruit and caramel finish with average duration. Palate: medium-full body with dry texture and lively carbonation. Overall: very good.

Sample at Über Tavern. This beer is a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and malt. Medium body with a resiny hops character and notes of roast malt and fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Deep bronze, curdled cream head. Nice piny nose, that immediately transports you deep into the evergreen forest. Flavor delivers on the pineyness without being resiny--which is a nice accomplishment in craftmanship. An impressive first beer from this upstart.
