COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wonderful spirit of camaraderie, cooperation and mutual support exists in the world of craft brewing. We have harnessed this spirit fully in the crafting of this special collaborative brew dedicated to the resilient people of Japan who are bravely endeavoring to overcome the tragedy of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. We tip our brewing hats to the quiet elegance and humble sophistication of Japanese culture through the judicious addition of Japanese whole leaf green tea to this big, bold, spicy and herbal IPA. Cheers, Japan!

Dean Swift - RBESG Tasting. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Light hoppy nose. Light semi crisp palate. Mild but rich hops, grassy with some marmalade. A little creamy malt with a touch of green tea. Finishes semi dry with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Interesting - I want a whole bottle to myself.

Bottle at Paradiso Dupont, recommendation of Greg, shared with a whole bunch of folks. Cloudy orange, thick white head head. Aroma of (no kidding) green tea! Taste resembles a slightly sour and moderately bitter saison. Nice.

12/11/12/11//12

A: The pour is a light orange color with a big white head. S: The nose on this is just flat out unpleasant. There is a strong aroma of onions, vegetables, body odor, and feet. There is some tea, but it’s not very strong. A bit of grapefruit peel and some fake lemon. T: There is a lot of bready malt flavor to the beer with a decent amount of hops. The hop flavors aren’t all that enjoyable, though. I pick up some lemons, onions, a mild pine, and just a bit of bitterness. M: The body is medium with a medium to high carbonation. O: I wanted to like this as it is for a good cause, but it just missed the mark.
