COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wonderful spirit of camaraderie, cooperation and mutual support exists in the world of craft brewing. We have harnessed this spirit fully in the crafting of this special collaborative brew dedicated to the resilient people of Japan who are bravely endeavoring to overcome the tragedy of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. We tip our brewing hats to the quiet elegance and humble sophistication of Japanese culture through the judicious addition of Japanese whole leaf green tea to this big, bold, spicy and herbal IPA. Cheers, Japan!

I like this beer! The taste like the aroma has fruit notes. The green tea comes through and compliments the slight hop taste. It seems that the green tea was fruit or something. Very nice thank you stone and best wishes to Japan

Murky amber pour with a small white head, no lacing. Fruity hop and tea aroma. Wonderful piney hop flavor with a extremely dry finish. It is almost like some steals the flavor right out of your mouth.

Unique dichotomy of hop and tea bitterness that don’t necessarily supersede one another. The distinct tea flavor balances well with the herbal hoppiness of the IPA. An unusual idea that is electrified by artisan craftsmanship and good-natured charity, this collaboration isn’t the best thing you’ll ever taste, but it’s something everyone should christen their tongue with at least once. Bold, distinguished, intense. Worthy of your time.

Thanks to bobbypaulson for this one! Pours pale yellow with a nice white head and very lively. Smell: grapefruit, pine, lemon and caramel. Taste: pine, grapefruit, lemon, orange with a touch of tea. Mouthfeel medium and a lingering piney sweet finish.

Pours hazy golden with a small off white head and lots of sediment. Aroma is of California hops with some floral notes and some pine. Strong hop flavour, pine, floral and citrus notes followed and finished by the perfect amount of tea notes. Leaves a nice bitter aftertaste from both the hops and the tea. At 9% the alcohol is well hidden. Could use more tea flavour but I think the notes of tea are at a good level to not overpower the hops.

Pours a gold amber with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops, very herbal, with the tea coming out. Mildly bitter flavor, with citrus and green tea notes. Finishes moderately sweet with a little stronger bitterness. Overall, very interesting, this is what tea would taste like if it were beer!

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2012 Bottle tasted and notes taken on Darkness Day. Thankfully, it was the first beer of the day! Bottle to glass. Hazy gold with a white head. The aroma contains some really interesting notes of citrus (grapefruit), pine and green tea. I like this beer. I was glad I picked up this bottle. The tea had a nice offset to the citrus and pine. Good pickup

bought in denver and opened in salt lake city into pint glass. looks light orange. Smells like a whole bunch of dry hopping and some earthy nodes that i bet are from the green tea. Tastes like a strong good ipa with a range of hop complexion but didn’t taste a whole lot of the green teaness to it. still a great beer though. overall 8 of 10

This bottle pours an awesome opaque orange with a medium sized white head. Mostly citrusy grapefruit aromas with some piney resinous hops and herbal green tea notes in there as well. Plenty of big juicy hops for plenty of bold flavors. Citrusy sweetness and piney bitterness create an awesome blend of flavors. Herbal green tea flavors linger in the background and become more pronounced as the beer warms and also prevalent in the finish. Medium bodied. Somewhat sticky texture. Goes down way too easy for a 9.2% ABV beer. Love the long bitter hoppy finish accentuated by the green tea. Only complaint would be that I would have liked to gotten a stronger green tea flavor.

I wasn’t very impressed with this beer. It does however have a very interesting flavor profile with the green tea. The green tea bring an almost lager-esque middle and finish to the beer as compared to the normal hop forward IPA’s
