COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wonderful spirit of camaraderie, cooperation and mutual support exists in the world of craft brewing. We have harnessed this spirit fully in the crafting of this special collaborative brew dedicated to the resilient people of Japan who are bravely endeavoring to overcome the tragedy of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. We tip our brewing hats to the quiet elegance and humble sophistication of Japanese culture through the judicious addition of Japanese whole leaf green tea to this big, bold, spicy and herbal IPA. Cheers, Japan!

12oz bottle. Poured a cloudy golden / orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, floral, herbal tea, and caramel. Tastes of citrus, green tea, fruity, pine, and caramel. Alcohol overall hidden. Grew on me.

Pour is relatively clear golden with a sticky light brown head (very dense)...smell is lightly sweet and hoppy with grapefruit, caramel, some vanilla...taste is lightly sweet up front with lots of subtle grapefruit flavor and slight bitterness coming in at the back...I am not certain I can taste the tea, but maybe thatís the flavor in the middle that is making this beer so well balanced...

bought in denver and opened in salt lake city into pint glass. looks light orange. Smells like a whole bunch of dry hopping and some earthy nodes that i bet are from the green tea. Tastes like a strong good ipa with a range of hop complexion but didnít taste a whole lot of the green teaness to it. still a great beer though. overall 8 of 10

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The beer pours a cloudy dark gold with lots of sediment from the yeast due to bottle conditioning. Aromas are awesome with hoppiness dominating. Notes of citrus all over the place, with some pine and floral notes as well. Taste is bold, mostly hoppiness, but the light malts balance out the hops well. Good bitterness, and certainly not overbearing. Body is medium with average carbonation. Overall, a very nice collaboration, but mostly Stone....reminds me of Ruination.

12oz 9.2% ABV brew pours out semi hazy orange like copper with thin white head. The rather firm robust aroma forces up notes of booze enhanced orange juice, some herbal green-ness, citrus fruit skin, pineapple and tangelo. Man, lots going on here. The taste is similar with sort of an orange juice, tangelo juice and mango like hop flavor and a sense of booze. I get only a mild bitter hoppiness. Wow, lots of robust citrus and tropical fruit notes with hints of earthy tea like herbal hops well off in the background. All in all I dig this.

What a fantastic collaboration idea. After pouring, this one appears as a rich golden liquid with many particles suspended inside. Atop it sits a compact white head, from which rises a most amazing aroma. The smell nicely combines tea and hops, with hints of exotic fruits such as guava. The taste delivers a good dose of hoppy bitterness. Tannins and other earthy flavors become more apparent as the brew breathes and warms up. Its alcohol is well hidden, its character is snappy, its finish is long and dry. Overall a great drink. Maybe IPA and green tea were meant to be together.

(12oz bottle) very cloudy medium-bright orange with a fine film of white bubbles. Nose of orange pulp, earth, herbs, honey and citrus notes. Taste if herbal green tea, juicy citrus, orange pulp, mild bit of orange zest, and hint of grapefruit. Dry finish with a bit of astringency like from a citrus oil. Great tropical palate linger. Nice IPA!

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2011 12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Dublin/Columbus. Pours an almost murky orange with lots of floating particles. Medium sized off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, herbal and floral hops, lemongrass, mild tea notes, caramel malts. The taste is big strong tea notes, citrus hops and caramel malts. Medium bodied. Well done.

12 oz bottle from Spirits Red Bank shared at the Rapture release. Poured an amber body with a nice full fluffy off white head but TONS of floating particles. Aroma was nicely hopped with some sweet caramel, yellow grapefruit pulp, citrus, and perhaps just a hint of tea bags. Nice full body that is chewy with slightly stronger carbonation and some heat on the backend. Flavor off citrus, grapefruit rind, bread and grains. Good stuff.

Outstanding. One of the best IPAs Iíve encountered. Pours a nice, hazy, golden-orange, almost peach color with a nice mid-sized head. Strong grassy, hop aroma. Flavor has a nice bitterness, with citrus and strong pine-hop flavors showing through.Very fruity. Nice smooth finish to it. One of the best collaborations from Stone and among their best IPAs in general.
