COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beneath the cool facade of the warrior, a red-hot flame of intensity, determination and, yes, anger burns. So it is with this unpredictable Brown Ale: fleeting malty sweetness and warmth hide complexity, a barely controlled bitterness, and, naturally, a bit of an angry edge. You’ve really got yourself into a situation now. "Anger is energy. Use it, then let it go." Kampai!

Bottle. Pours a light to medium hazy brown with a creamy fine-grained light tan head. Nose is roast almonds, sherry, golden raisins, and hard cheese. Quite sweet on the front of the tongue, then shifting into a sharp, herbal, floral hoppy bitterness. More dried fruit and crisp nuttiness on the tongue. A definite new take on brown ale, and one I like; it stays with the sherry notes all the way through the finish. Most interesting.

Old note. Aroma has caramel/toffee malts with some citrus. Hazy, red-brown coloured beer with a non lasting off-white head. The taste is sweet, has some bitterness, caramel and citrus mainly. Pleasant mouthfeel. Nice.

Kleurplaatje (85) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2015
Pours hazy brown with a nice, thick, lasting tan head. Aroma of hops and roasted malts. Some fruitiness as well. Okay. Taste is on the roasty side, bitterish and moderately sweet. Nice nutty flavor all along, accompanied with a clear soft sugary sweetnees. Finish has a nice refreshing hopbitter and lingers long. Full bodied, average carbonation, but just a bit on the thinnish side. However, a pretty well-crafted brew indeed. Tasty, appealling and beautifully refreshing brew. Definitely gonna test more of them.
