Pours a brown color with a tan head. Aroma is sweet of caramel malts, nuttiness, chocolate malts, and a hint of some hops. Flavor is sweet at first with the caramel and chcolate malts and nuttiness. Finishes slightly bitter from the citrus hops. Better then I was expecting.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 zappafan99 (463) - ASCENSION ISLAND - JUL 25, 2008
7/8 Taste Bottle. Looks: Clear brown with clinging creamy foam. Aroma: A little malt sweetness. Taste: Nice and full flavored. Mild sweetness and chew of the malt. Great spice and kick from the spice/floral hops blend. An even sour. Top notch recipe, underrated.

Murky brown pour with fluffy tan head, and nice lace. Big piney aroma. Thin bodied very hoppy with a nutty twist. Lots of citrus hops maybe too much for the style.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 17thfloor (2300) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 14, 2008
Pours a murky brown with a large foamy beige head. Large aroma, huge christmas tree, piney, resin, sweet and perfumy, touch of pineapple. Flavor kind of follows... perfumy. Some sweet citrus/pineapple and some dry varnish/nuttiness. Its good, but kind of awkward, lacks direction, a FFF approach to beer making... hop the hell out of it no matter what the style. Medium body, crisp carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - JUL 8, 2008
UPDATED: APR 7, 2009 Bottle. Medium sized tan fizzy head that mostly diminished, one ring of lacing, carbonation noted, semi-transparent and slightly hazy, and an orange brown hue. The aroma was malt, bitter, hoppy, citrus, grapefuit, and sweet. Ditto for the flavor but tasted watered down and thin. The mouthfeel was mostly smooth and lightly tingly. Light bodied. Quaffable, easy to drink, thin tasting, nothing earth shattering going on here IMO, just a nice beer to drink.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - JUL 6, 2008
Lighter brown in color, soft beige head. Caramel and chocolate flavors come through up front, not very earthy, but a nice sweetness that would pair really well with dinner. Balanced with a soft chocolate finish. Really well built brown ale.

Bottle. Short lived, big bubbled head, cloudy brown color. Aroma is plenty nutty and you can tell there’s a ton of hops (Cascade?). Hops are hoppy and the malts are toasty. I hate to say a beer is over hopped so I won’t. Lets just say it’s the hoppiest Brown I’ve had and I enjoyed it. Really good stuff.

Hazy medium brown body with a yellowish khaki head. The aroma has sweeet notes of perfumed body powder and dark cherries. The taste has some black tea and roasted cherries. Fairly sweet, it is fairly decently hopped with some grapefruit notes.

Bottled. Hazy nut brown, rich head. Grapefruity aroma with roasty malt undeneath. Sweet and soft, medium bodied. Lovely chewy malt character accompanied by fresh, perfumy aromatic hops. medium bitterness. A pleasure to drink!
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ante (3375) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 10, 2008
Bottled, thanks to omh-crew. Pours out in a hazy brown colour with a small creamy tan-coloured foam. Toasted malts, cream, nuts, fudge and leaves in the aroma. Surprisingly hoppy and bitter flavour of leaves and lemon-zest with sweetish notes of nuts, cream and fudge. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Long dryish finish of leafy and orangey ops with touches of flowers, nuts and mild coffee. A brown ale with a lot of character.
