I can’t beleive I had to go to Yokohama to try this one. Draft. Cloudy amber brown color, thick tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of brownies. Taste is toast and cocoa.

Appearance: Pours clear dark brown with a medium sized beige head and good lacing
Aroma: Caramel, nutty and toasted malts
Taste: Toasted malts, toffee, nutty with some bitterness in the finish
A nice brown ale.

A hazed dark amber ale with a thin off white head In aroma, sweet nutty caramel malt with floral hops, treacle, very British. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt with nice British grassy hops, treacle, nice, well done. On tap at Farm House, Feb. 10 2012.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Beautiful dark chestnut colour in the glass. Cloudy with a longish lasting head. Smooth and rich, with caramel and some fruit inside. Really nice,will have again soon.

Aromas of caramel, roasted toffee and barley. Straight brown in color with a thin foam. Flavors of nuts, roasted caramel and barley. Finish leaves a lingering hazelnut or almond nuttiness. Overall, very interesting take on a brown ale. It is a little watery and there is a slightly odd funk in the back of the palate. Other than that it is pretty good. I’d give this a B- rating.

Pours a cloudy light brown colour(with a bunch of sediment at the bottom of the bottle) and huge off white head sticking to the glass leaving nice lace. Aromas of caramel, toasted grain, toffee, citrus. Flavours of caramel, chocolate, toasted malts, medium bitterness, citrus, dry finish.

Una Brown a mio parere non eccezionale. Aroma decisamente dolce di caffè che copre un po troppo gli altri sapori. Alla lunga ci si stanca del gusto.
