Beneath the cool facade of the warrior, a red-hot flame of intensity, determination and, yes, anger burns. So it is with this unpredictable Brown Ale: fleeting malty sweetness and warmth hide complexity, a barely controlled bitterness, and, naturally, a bit of an angry edge. You’ve really got yourself into a situation now. "Anger is energy. Use it, then let it go." Kampai!

From bottle, pours a murky brown with a medium yellowish white head. Good sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and fruits and roasted malts. Taste is immediately hoppy, some sweetness, caramel, roasted malts, dark fruits. Medium mouthfeel. Good carbonation. Hoppy not quite bitter finish. Nicely done. Enjoyed in Narita, Japan.

Aroma is pineapple , citrus and grass. Taste is a earthiness that derives from the hops . The bitterness isnt overwhelming but leaves some tartiness.Cloudy brown body that has some sediment formed on the bottom. Head retains well.

Ming-ja che buona! Al contrario di hulk questo ragazzo lo vogliamo assolutamente vedere arrabbiato!! Brown ale di tutto rispetto, con una leggera luppolatura che risalta nel finale. Buona davvero.

360 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place in Mong Kok.

Cloudy hazy amber brown colour with lots of brown yeast sediments; One and half finger head with crumpet off-white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of dark malt, with grapefruit, plums, light dark chocolate, toffee, very light cream, molasses and light grass; Medium sweet taste of roasted malt, with grapefruit zest, light dark chocolate, burnt toast, burnt toffee, nuts, yeast, strong liquorices, bitter lime and very sharp grass; Mid to light body, dry and slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is very hopped-up brown ale. Grapefruit is zesty rather than fruity. Very roasty malt taste and feel, with burnt toast and dry nutty taste dominate all the way. Nasty boy!... Hoppiness is light grass nose, very sharp lime and grassy hop taste. Liquorices is sharp as hell, really astringent for a lasting and sparkling bitter finish; Dry after taste, nicely sweet and bitter to mouth.

Comments: Thought this one would be a so-so Brown Ale and I am surprised: everything were done in extreme from shinny zesty grapefruit hops, to very burnt toast and very nutty malt. Bold and strong with no hold bar, very enjoyable and don’t miss it!
