jonno (154), Japan May 3, 2007 Quite sweet, with little bitterness. Very malty and drinkable, but perhaps a bit run off the mill
Suttree (2293), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 29, 2008 Clear coppery brown, Huge beige / tan head. Aroma is rather malty/sweet. At first it seems more like some sort of English Plae or ESB, with a lot of bitterness and not a whole lot of sweet. Definately a unique take on a brown ale. Enjoyable. Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 21, 2008 Small bottle from Belmont Station in PDX--Poured a hazy deep amber body with a gripping cream colored off-white head. Floral, citrus, sweet, sharp nose. Sticky, sweet, bitter, tangy flavor. This is a brown ale? No! Well, there’s some mild roastiness so maybe, but not totally. It’s a pale or an amber. Hoppy bitter finish. Easy drinking and sharp. BeerGestapo (322), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2008 (JAPAN) Pours a murky brown color with a med-off white head. The aroma is malty with some pine needles and oranges. The taste is of spicy malts, caramel, citrus, and nuts. The mouthfeel is bitter and dry !!! I was not sure what to expect here, but overall this was pretty interesting. This will leave you angry.....lol. Lowe1983 (742), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pours a brown color with a tan head. Aroma is sweet of caramel malts, nuttiness, chocolate malts, and a hint of some hops. Flavor is sweet at first with the caramel and chcolate malts and nuttiness. Finishes slightly bitter from the citrus hops. Better then I was expecting. zappafan99 (322), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Jul 25, 2008 7/8 Taste Bottle. Looks: Clear brown with clinging creamy foam. Aroma: A little malt sweetness. Taste: Nice and full flavored. Mild sweetness and chew of the malt. Great spice and kick from the spice/floral hops blend. An even sour. Top notch recipe, underrated.
