Tap in Bashamichi Tap Room. Really dark brown ale, reddish edges. Nose is very malty, chocolate and roasted malt. Some ale fruitiness but it’s mainly a lot of malt. Nice chocolatey ale with good balance in those malty flavours.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smoked ale to go along with Chuck’s smoked meats. Not overly smokey as Mark said, just a solid bodied ale with some cured ham and salted fish. Fairly easy drinking and straight forward. Good for a few.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Handpump at the Taproom. Something like a smoked brown ale. Caramel aroma with rather lightish smoke. Smokier flavor with caramel, chocolate. Smoke still medium level, less than in Bamberg. A very tasty smoked ale, almost flat, with a very smooth, rich body. Great with BBQ.
