UPDATED: JAN 25, 2012 On tap at the anniversary party. Black with brown edges and an off white head. Nose is smoked meat, roasted grain. Taste is light roasted grain, then meaty smokey ham, and barbecued meats. Good balance and it’s surpringly light bodied for all that flavour and being a stout.

Tap at Bashamichi. Glowing pitch black. Low, bubbly head. Restrained nose: coffee, wood, dark chocolate, some cream. Creamy chocolate flavor, a bit of licorice, light smoke, but quite roasty. Nice balance.
