3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The addition of ’the nightmare’ (rye) to the grist gives a soft spiciness to the brew. An excellent beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 03-12-2014.
In short: spicy bitter finishing beer.
Pours quite hazy amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Spicy, grassy, "wet" aromas.Medium body, average carbonation, some oily texture. Taste is malty, grassy, herbal, spicy, some hot notes, with a developping bittering leading to some dry finish. A modern concept brew that reminds me of tradiotional ales. Enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
*The bottle I have states 7.5% Packaged 07 26 14
Pours a deep brown with good head and floating yeast residue.
Aroma is good and fairly bold, sweet hops.
Good palate, but not as smooth as I was expecting from the Rye, perhaps a little high on the carbonation, slight bite.
The taste is good, but overpoweringly sweet to my taste.
Overall a good beer, but it is just way too sweet for me (especially for an IPA), I wouldn’t try it again in a hurry.

Draught at GJBF Yokohama 2014. Mostly caramel and herbal/pine hops, pepper, bitter finish. A bit disappointing, not much rye character.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Aroma is great, light cheesy funkiness, bit spicy, earthy too. Taste is good, tropical fruit but lots of spice, pepper, bitter, grapefruit, cream cheese and chive. Yum.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Citrusy hops and lean cereals meet before leafy hop resins provide a flavorful bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the amber-hued golden.
-The mouthfeel is soft and feels natural.
-The flavor profile is balanced, as is the case for almost every Baird beer I’ve had.
-This is highly drinkable for the style.
-Aromatic hops could be more engaging for the style.
