Baird Cool Breeze Pils is a Bohemian-style Pilsner that is a wonderful foil to the dumbed-down industrial Pils-derived lagers of the modern era. As with all Baird Beer, it is a robustly flavorful brew (unfiltered, naturally carbonated and dry-hopped), and yet, as per the style, it is wonderfully thirst-quenching. The color is a rich gold and the clarity is crystal. The aroma is like a faint floral perfume. The flavor is an enticingly complex interplay of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. The finish is dry, cleansing and firmly bitter.

Draught at Bulldog. Served in horrible condition, almost flat and warm... I do see good potential though with decent bready cereal body followed by green hops and a bitter finish.

On tap at Naka-Meguro Taproom summer 2014. Clear golden color with soapy white head. Lemongrass, lime and some citrus on the nose. Hop forward with malts only coming across muted on the palate. Very refreshing with a medium body. Crisp and dry finish. Not really a pilsner fan but this was nice.

Draught at Baird Nakameguro
Pours clear orange with a large frothy white head. Smells of grass, orange, herbs. Taste is crisp, fresh grassy hops. Really enjoyable.

Bottle from Asahiya. Light citrus nose, floral, not Saazy. Hazy medium straw color, 1-cm. fluffy head. Thin malt, with a slight fizz-up of mild hoppiness. Thin-medium body. Okay. Gentle, some good flavors, but not much like a pils.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2015 Draught at Bungalow. Clear gold, okay lacing. Malty flowery aroma. Flavour has some nice hop bitterness, but subtle.

Draught at the Fishmarket Taproom. Citrusy American hops aroma. Clean, reminiscent of a golden ale. Centennial? Light, fruity, peppery. Clean, crisp and nice, though not really pils-like.

This is a pilsner? Too american for me. Nothing like what I expected and another Baird seasonal fizzer. Tasted more like a light pale ale than anything. next...

My Bottom Line:
Tall noble hop vines pursue their growth through the crisp malts’ levelled cereal sweetness, satisfying from top to bottom in its balanced vessel. It comes as no surprise that Baird’s Pilsener is a smashing quencher.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear gold.
-The underlying honeyed sweetness is a great base for the floral, herbal hop bouquet.
-The lingering herbal hop bitterness is truly pleasant.
-This is another Baird beer which is balanced, flavorful, and hugely drinkable.

On tap at Popeye’s.

Dark golden color. Muted nose, but has some Saaz hops noticable. Smooth mouth, sweet malty start. Well balanced. Hoppiness hits back of the mouth. A moderately bitter finish. Very well put together using an ale yeast. Definetely a new summer fav and it goes great with shrimp tempura.
