2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Palme (1437) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 6, 2011
0.633l bottle shared with ClubGonzo @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a dark orange body with a little tiny just off-white head. Strange nose almost sugar sweet sweets, lollipop-aroma and soap. Taste is completely different! Pungent-sh, synthetic and outdated carbonation, grass and quite watery. Almost like they have poured a old and heavily shaking sparkling water in the batch and hurried up to bottle it. There is also unfortunately a not so great dirt and earthy flavor near the end. As Yoda would have said it: To strange for me, this is. Yes, hmmm.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 ClubGonzo (1950) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 6, 2011
Bottle, shared by Palme @ Henrik, Bergen. Slightly hazy, dark brown body. Medium creamy, off-white head. Nose is soapy green hops and hints of nougat, coca-cola and milk chocolate. Weird. Taste is UTTERLY weird, with tones of port wine, dark malts, detergent, metal and stale wheat. Hints of coca-cola. WTF? What is this? What kind of fruits are in it??? Baird scores some originality points here, but this is not my thing, that’s for sure... :-P

Bottle, 633ml, at Patricks. It pours an almost clear amber body under a small off-white head. Wheat, fruits and peaches on the nose. The flavor is a nice blend of malty sweetness and spicy hops. Quite dryish even though there’s a good dash of sweetness. Spiced, fruity finish. A nice and easy drinking beer. 100213

633 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Deep copper coloured beer, big off-white head. Interesting aroma of malts, dark bread, caramel and ripe fruits, hints of wood. The flavour is fruity with a noticeable acidity, also notes of wood and brown bread, hints of caramel. Moderate hops in the finish. I’ve had better, I’ve had worse.
