3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 2, 2010
Draught at Popeye. Very hoppy nose--American hops, with grass and citrus, also chocolate, caramel and a nice dark malt background. Very hoppy flavor with nice earthiness and roasty malts. Chocolate and coffee work with extreme bitterness. Good.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 abemorsten (1316) - Randaberg, NORWAY - NOV 28, 2009
On tap @ Popeye’s February 2009. Clear dark pour with practically no head. Hoppy aroma, pine but also liqorice and dark malts. Tastes like it smells burnt caramel, prune, tobacco. It strikes me that this could be something that Nøgne Ø could have brewed. Mild acidic aftertaste. Interesting and recommended!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 buzzoven (376) - JAPAN - JUN 14, 2008
Black colour with a very nice looking lilac brown head. Unexpectedly good flavour of licorice, anise, subtle sweetness and a very slightly sticky feeling. Unique and impressive. Seems like Baird makes their best brews exclusively for pubs (this and First Impact are brewed only for Popeye’s and Ushitora respectively).

On tap at Popeye, Tokyo. Almost black with a small tan head. Grapefruit hop aroma. Perfumy and grapefruity flavours with light roast. Well-carbonated with a full body. A great combination of flavours.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - SEP 29, 2007
Pint @ Popeye’s, Tokyo: Dark brown, light head and lacing. Nose of light hoppy, subtle caramel malts, light bitterness and a nice floral, earthy hoppiness. A bit lacking in body and a thin finish. Grassy finish. Eh.
