Commercial Description: Holiday Joy Spiced Ale is a robust, red-hued winter ale with a pleasant alcoholic warmth (approximately 6.5% alcohol by volume). Three popular Christmas-season spices are added to Holiday Joy at the end of wort boiling and this lends a magnificently festive aroma and pleasantly sweet spice flavor to the beer. Holiday Joy Spiced Ale thus can perform equally well as an aperitif or as a nightcap. In either case, it promises to bring added joy to your holiday season experience.
This is for the 2004 batch. He makes this is a similar context to OSA. Dark amber color, nutmeg, cloves, cardamon and cinammon in the nose. Full mouth, creamy. Reminds me of apple pie. Smooth sweet malty finish with a caramel, nutmeg and cinnamon after taste. Drank in August 06. Aged very nice.
