3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle from Liquors Hasegawa (bottled on 10/13/2014). Poured in a snifter. Pours a hazy caramel brown with a modest head that dissipated within 5 minutes. Really clear and strong sweet fig aroma. Slight cinnamon and alcohol aromas present as well. Initial taste was very alcohol forward with strong spice and bitterness present from hops. As it comes to room temperature individual spices become easier to detect: clove, ginger, corriander, cinnamon and nutmeg are all present. Alcohol taste becomes a little milder. FIg aroma is quite strong and lasts throughout the glass. Medium body with a relatively thin texture. Bitter finish. Very unique beer from Baird.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is unique/different spices, malts and very light citrus. The flavor is spices, malts, mild coffee, a hint of toffee and a slightly puckering, tart finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by DrSilverworm - thanks again, Chris! He said this one was a couple years old. Pours a semi-cloudy orange with a finger of off-white head. Notes of figs (the golden kind), peppery spice, caramel and amber and toasted malts, sugars, earth, straw - didn’t really get any cinnamon in here, but then again I’m not sure if "cinnamon twigs" are something else altogether. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Interesting beer. Certainly one of a kind.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
633ml bottle, from Dutch’s.. Labeled 7%. An older vintage, not sure which though. Shared with friends. Clear red amber color. Thin off-white bubbly head. Dots and bits of lace. Figs, touch cinnamon, touch toasty, and some mild flavor of oxidization up front, some caramel malt. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. More drying finish in the end. Moderate sweet taste, kind of a tang, light bitterness. Pretty tasty, aside from the touch of oxidization. Held up reasonably well for what it is.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle -
I have to wonder how long this beer sat in the summer time in a hot warehouse while waiting to be distributed to the various locations. What I tasted seemed to be a echo of what could have been a much better beer. Rather flabby and lacking any real direction, the flavors of this beer kind of just lay flat on the palate. Wet paper, light vegetables, canned peaches, and golden raisins seemed to combine to an uninspired aroma. Flavor was light pitted fruit, more wet paper, raw dough and old caramel malts. If it wasn’t old (which it seemed to scream it), then it’s poorly executed.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
"a decent hoppy spiced ale that was enjoyable enough. even a little unique. but in the end the flavors were a bit muddled and the beer lacked focus. i’d drink it again, but wouldn’t pay the premium price on another bottle."

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is honey tea and biscuit malts. Appears an amber/copper with a crimson tint. Taste follows nose with sharp honeysuckle, tea, biscuit and sweet caramel overtones. Mid palate is sugary sweet toffee, tea leaf and more biscuit. Overall, unique but too sweet for my taste. B- rating.

Draught. Copper colour, small white head, some lacing. Quite sweet aroma of fig and some spice. Lots of cinnamon balanced nicely with the sweet fruit.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Bungalow. Not usually a fan of spiced beer, but this was nice. Deep burnt amber with thin broken head. Sweet nose with rich fruity malt, figs, and caramel. Lovely sweetness and fullness- was as warming as advertised. Didn't get so much cinnamon as I thought, but there's definitely some spices in there. A great winter warmer.
