COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop agricultural has taken deep root in New Zealand over the past decade. Hop varieties from the kiwi country are, in our experience, quite distinct from those of both Europe and the United States. Kiwi IPA is our attempt to highlight the character of three varieties of New Zealand hops (Motueka, NZ Cascade and NZ Hallertau Aroma). We flavor- aroma- and dry-hop this brisk India Pale Ale exclusively with the aforementioned NZ varieties. The result, we think, is a deliciously complex IPA quite unlike any you have experienced before.

Yellow. Off-white head. Frothy. Lacing. Aroma of hops, and hops. Fruity. Taste is of buttered microwave popcorn. Really buttery. There might be something else to it, but the diacetyl is overwhelming, making this a not so tasty brew.

Pours hazy amber, off white head. Nice IPA colour. Distinct NZ hop aroma - grapefruit with a bit of grass.
Flavour has a serious bitterness, which is carried nicely by a full malt body. Definite grapefruity hops with a grassy kick.
A well rounded super hoppy IPA with a NZ accent.

On tap at Barley in Nishinomiya. Very interesting hop aroma, fragrant yet subdued compared to US hops. Grass and pine dominant, with a bit of grapefruit. Cloudy copper color. Sweet, fruity flavor, with nice hops but a bit candy-ish. Good bitter finish, very long. Alcohol also noticeable. Interesting hop flavors but too sweet. Could be better attenuated.
