Bottle at Kimi Ryokan, Ikebukuro. Clear dark amber/red - white head.Soft hoppy aroma, red berrie notes, toasted malts, fruity, amber malts, ok medium bitternss, light light flowery notes, nice mellow body, grassy, light piney notes. nice pleasant.

Bottle from Tanakaya, Tokyo. Dark red colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fruit, malt. Bitter malt, hops, fruit flavour.

Bottle from Asahiya. Moderate hop, fresh sawdust, yeast, grain, and a hint of smoke. Dark honey-redsih color, thin off-white head. Mild roasty malt initial, with subtstantial yeast notes / some tangy hoppiness, and then rich caramel / smooth, light sweet finish, which fades quickly. Thin-medium bod. Tasty stuff. Could use a bit more body or malt.

Tap at Nakameguro. Dark orange red colour, little creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity, berries, cherry, bit nutty, sweet malt. Taste is bit fruity, nice malty sweetness, bit of hop bitterness but subtle. Bit of real ale texture, but more carbonation. Nice.

Draught at CBB. Rich grainy malt, caramel and gum ball and fruits. SOmewhat sweet but restrained. Light body, good flavor for an Irish Red.

On hand pump at the brewery. Huge pillowy head, extremely long lasting. Dark hazy amber body. Nose of biscuit, light caramel, and soft hops. Taste is very controlled and well balanced. Taste was caramel and gently roasted malts, with a rosy hop backbone. Amazingly smooth palate, very soft, medium fill. Its a very quiet, laid back, ale, but it works beautifully.
