Capa (718), Yokosuka, Japan Jun 2, 2008 Black with a hefty tan head. Roasted malts, some coffee, cocoa, some dark fruit, and mulch. Flavor is full of dark roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, a bit oily, and the earthy mulch shows up for a brief instant. Full bodied and proper stout carbonation. A very nice stout. thebeertourist (1764), Oslo, Norway Apr 5, 2008 Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Black with a creamy tan head. Chocolate and espresso both in the nose and in the mouth. A good strong stout, no doubt. CaptainCougar (4624), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 19, 2007 Bottle sampled on 9/15/07: Pours a nearly opaque with ruby mahogany hues and a spotty-lacing tan head. Aroma of smoky roasty dark malts and some dark chocolatey notes. Body starts with good dark caramel sweetness and a touch of earthy chocolatey complexity and a smooth chocolate and espresso finish. A nice stout. goldtwins (3721), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 5, 2007 Poured a very clear dark golden brown color. Mild chocolate aroma with some roast. The flavor was dull with light chocolate and roasted notes. Light body. beastiefan2k (1085), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Sep 17, 2007 Thanks to daijokey for bringing this to JoeMcphee’s place for CaptainCougar come to NY gathering. Completely black color. Aroma is strong roast with choclate hints. A very espresso feel all around. Taste is a bit watery with roast. Otherwise very average stout. This really isn’t a "foreign" stout, more like a regular stout.
