3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, - OCT 5, 2009
Medium copper with a nice, fine head. Fruity, hoppy aroma with lots of citrus. Decent malt flavor, with bubble gum, fruit, strong hops, apples? and pine. Bitter, hoppy finish with a bit of sweetness. Nice but not overly special.

on tap at the nakameguro taproom, july ’08. clear amber with a head that clung persistently to one side of the glass; loads of hops - warrior, simcoe, columbus - bringing pine and lychee aromas; plenty of guts, grapefruit, lasting rasping bitterness; great stuff

Grapefruit and caramel up front and holding hands. First impressions are balanced grain and flowers giving way to grapefruit juice, pine, herbs and other green things. Finishes long, resiny ,and lightly floral.

Slightly odd beer that came across as a hybrid tripple, wit and pale ale. Lots of caradmon and orange character, but surprisingly light and hoppy. Intersting, but not what I would call an IPA.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Capa (1627) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2008
One of the best Baird brews I’ve had. Slightly hazy orange with a creamy head. Citrus, lemon, orange, and a bit of pine over a light malt aroma. Dry and bitter body. Very hoppy flavor consisting mainly of citrus and pine. Bitterness lasts for a while; nice. Really enjoyable IPA. It doesn’t try to do too much besides be bitter and tasty.
