3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle - 22 oz) Clear golden color with a fizzy and effervescent white head. Good carbonation. Aroma is light and fruity with a good amount of hops and spice followed by a sweetness that I couldnít identify but I can assume only is the mikans. Imparts a bit of citrus as well. Flavor has a strong citrus character at the beginning mixing well with hops and other floral notes, as well as some yeast and spice. The fruitiness from the mikans (again Iím guessing) comes through and passes a good amount of grapefruit-like characteristics. Finishes rather fizzy, tart, and sweet. Very interesting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This brew has a tall white head that floats above a hazy gold body.
Sweet and fruity aroma - candy like.
The flavor is thin in comparison to the aroma. Slightly sweet and fruity.
Gassy carbonation, light.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a deep, murky gold/orange with white fizzy head. Aroma of passion fruit and floral hops. Flavor of fruit, some wild yeast, light hoppy bitter with a not so good after taste. Mouthfeel is light body, high carbonation with a little fizz. Not bad.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy dark brown orange color. It looks more like a meal than a drink. A slightly tart mikan nose erupts, along with citrus fruits, cotton candy and some sweet maltiness. Sweet malty mouth is well balanced with ample hops and a refreshing tartness. Mikan, candy apples and cotton candy all come through. Sweet malty finish. Yum. This is one of the better fruit beers I have had.
This kicks ass over his other Mikan ale (why a brewery brews two mikan ales, I donít know).

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
22 oz. bottle. $6 @ Binnyís, April 2011. Poured into a smallish pilsener glass, just to get a good look at the stuff. Pours hazy gold with red highlights, and a lot of particles floating around. If the base style was a Belgian wheat beer, this could be seen as OK. Big fizzy head. Smell starts off with golden ale malt, a bit of sour note. Nice, just not a BIG smell, I guess. Have to say, though, the taste is not that much of a much. Maybe I let it sit around to long. All I can really get is a Fat Tire with hard Mandarin oranges in it. Guess I should have had this fresher.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
20110328 50cl bottle from State Line. Hazy dark golden with small but lasting white head of tight foam. Aroma is bright and citrusy, lots of lemony and grapefruit, fresh parsley, shortbread, pizza dough, hints of white cedar. Soft on the palate up front, smooth and creamy wheat like a witte, but sturdy malts and easy, even carbonation of an APA. The finish comes quickly with a burst of grapefruit pith bitterness, and not in a hoppy way, but truly reminiscent of the skin of the fruit. Long lingering citrus and quite floral. Lovely, entertaining, a real treat.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a dull orange color with a very small bright white soapy head. Some lacing. Getting notes of passion fruit, and lemon grass. Mouthfeel is bubbly and carbonated but the front flavors drop off very quickly. Kind of over carbonated.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22OZ bottel pours a very cloudy pale orange/light amber. Small off-white head. Aroma is orange mango or tangerine and sweet citrusy hops. Malt flavors are light and fruity and while there is some hop flavor, there is not much bitterness from them. Strange fruity flavors but not bad.

Pretty boring all round. A decent ale flavoured with orange. Easy to drink, but didnít want another.
