Nov 1, 2009 Bottle. A bit of a gusher. Pours hazy apricot with a fluffy pale yellow head. Aroma of citrus and flowers. Medium body, active carbonation. Taste of bread, fruit, citrus, ginger. Pine and just a little soap on the finish.

Oct 14, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop in Durham, NC. Pours a hazy peach color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and caramel with floral and pine notes. Taste is very bready, with notes of brown sugar, bitter leafy hops, toastiness. Medium bodied. Strongly carbonated. Good beer. I’m finding I like this brewery a lot.

Oct 14, 2009 Draught at Harajuku Taproom. Clear amber - offwhite head. Bitterness, zesty, light sweetness, high hoppy, toasted, knækbrød (swedish flatbread), fruity, cactus. Nice bitter finish.

Oct 10, 2009 Orange with big, foamy off-white head / Nose of citrus and melon, with a touch of dry hops / Light to medium body, somewhat tart, with good balance and nice, dry finish / Mild, restrained yet elegant flavors of dry hops, orange, grapefruit, melon, and dry hops / Lacks the oomph of American pales, but very pleasant approached on its own terms. I could picture this with sushi.

Oct 9, 2009 12 ounce bottle from College Liquors. What an interesting label, the Japanese flag- and national symbols in general- are pretty controversial in Japan, but I like the label. My first Baird beer. Pours a dark amber color with a large white head. A sweet yeasty, honey nose, with some light earthy hops. The flavor is easy and good; sweet citrus, honey, dry and strong yeast, spicy and interesting. Very dry and easy to drink.

Sep 27, 2009 Bottle Pours primarily as carbonation, taking a bit to settle into a hazy rusty brew. Very grainy aroma, like a mill. Willowy and somewhat light-bodied, this delivers with a light citrusy appeal, and a fragrant fruity undertow. Nice refreshing brew. (#3688, 9/27/2009)
