Countbeer (4302) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 9, 2013
Bottle: Thanks Potjebier for getting me this one: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized ashvanilla beige foamy head on top of a deep dark brown to black colored beer. Aromas of smoke, liquorice, malts, tobacco, some sugar water, ash, hint of cedar, cigar, fishy and some spices. Flavours of tobacco, smoke, malt toast, liquorice, bitters, cigar(ette), some liquorice wood, (toasted) tea herbs, ash, thin coffee, some watery wood roast/smoke, hay and grain toast, herb toast and some fishy wood tones. Aftertaste is bitter with toast, smoke, tobacco, light fishy and something watery light liquorice ish... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly lightly fuller bodied and a creamy texture. Strange stout, watery, thin, strange range of aromas and flavours... Not bad but expected more!

330ml bottle pours almost black in color with a plentiful light brown head with good retention leaving a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is roasted malty bitterness balanced with the malty sweetness and some hoppy bitter notes in the finish. Light to medium body and adequate carbonation. Although a little thin in the body, I really enjoyed the balance of flavors that this stout offered. Well done!!!

Taste is cereals, deep malty tones, licorice, hints of coffee and bread crusts. Creamy, velvety body, soft carbonation. Mellow and nice dry stout.

Pours a watery brown with a thin head. Smells nice with dark roasted malts and chocolate but that’s where the fun stops. The taste is watery, deeply toasted malt seeming burnt at times. Looks ok, smells good, tastes worse. Actually its not that bad. Or good. Or bad.
