COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The concept for our Single-Take Session Ale is this: a moderate gravity (11.7 P) Belgian-yeast fermented ale that enjoys lots of hop-flavor and hop-aroma character without exhibiting much hop-bitterness (only 20 IBUs). We want Single-Take to deliver a complex yet balanced flavor explosion that is bright and sprite and never fatiguing. A deft grist combination of floor-malted barley (Maris Otter and Bohemian Pilsner), wheat and rye provide the perfect stage upon which our whole hop actors (German Tettnanger, Czech Saaz, American Santiam and Amarillo) get to sparkle. Our Belgian yeast strain holds the entire flavor performance together with its firm, spicy and tart directorial oversight.

360ml bottle. Deep amber colour with a soft white head peach and apricot aromas. Light in the mouth with a decent flavour with some fruitiness to it. Light on the palate, an easy to drink beer.

Tap. Didn’t do much for me. Soft and dull - abit grassy. A light phenolic yeast spices things up, but really nothing to write home about, especially with some of the fantastic hand pump beers circulating round the taprooms these days.

This was highly carbonated and had a large head on it. It tasted good, a little bitterness. I could drink more but there wasn’t really anything that grabbed me. Good but not great.

Keg at Harajuku taproom. Slightly cloudy pale yellow colour with small white head. Aroma is yeasty, bit Orval like but not as funky, and a bit saison like. Also a touch of lemon and orange. Taste is nice and fruity and ultra drinkable. Feels very pleasant in the mouth. Slightly bittter finish. Lovely!

Pours dark amber with a large, lasting head. Nose is very phenolic, big peppery and clove-like characters along with doughy Belgian yeast and lemon notes Lots of lemon as a flavours too as well as the doughy yeast. Also some sweet light malt and soft pear notes. Finishes very dry. Carbonation is too high. Very nice, refreshing stuff!

Draught at Tadg’s. Cloudy deep gold with a fine. low head. Big lemony nose, clean. Nicely malty flavor, with slightly spicy Belgian yeast, grassy hops, bread, a bit of citrus. Dry and very clean. Nicely drinkable.

To my tastes very similar to the Rising Sun PA. Well made but ultimately lean and almost under-friuted. Some slate and pepper and very quaffable. A subtle beer.

Classy and refreshing low ABV hoppy Belgian ale. Great balance, well brewed, and (as you’d expect) very sessionable. Just a little underwhelming.

light bodied, light bitterness with an interesting Belgian take. A touch phenolic. Rounded. Very drinkable. Enjoyable.
