4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy medium amber (bit of orange tinge) with a thin white (tinge of green) head (bottle fermented). Aroma - hops, floral, citrus. Taste: Very hoppy - lots of citrus - lots of bitterness - not much for malt underneath - but very flavorful in the hop realm. Finishes with a grassy hop bitterness. Warming mouthfeel... very good. Probably the best beer out of Japan that I’ve ever had...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
360ml bottle from 16th St. Liquor in West Vancouver. Pours a murky amber with off white head that reduces quickly to a faint ring. Aroma is powerfully floral with some hint of spice. Flavour is potent citric hop bitterness. Very floral and complex. Malt is there but underplayed. Good lingering bitter finish. While a solid IPA I’d nt classify it as a double. 7.5% just seems to be the tipping point between single and double and this beer doesn’t quite make the jump.

Bottle at Jan & Charlotte’s, Ulfborg, Denmark, 08.04.11 thanks Jan & Charlotte for this. Hazy orange/amber colour with a large bubbly white head. Really fresh hoppy nose, quite zingy. This is really good stuff, could be the beer of the evening. A8 A3 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cheers Mane Liquor ! Pours a deep, hazy straw with a medium white head. Seems to last quite well. Aroma has a big emphasis on sweet and citric fruits, namely passionfruit, guava, grapefruit. The hops jump out. Flavour is much the same but adds a greater emphasis on the grapefruit. Great dry hopped characteristic as well. This is a very solid IIPA. Nothing completely shouts out at you but seems to be very well balanced

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Deep Ellum. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Soft hops, not too huge. Medium bodied, slow citrus hops and a nice grapefruit note. Candy and malt, toasty. Long bitter finish with more grapefruit.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Small white head, fast gone over unclear amber-ochre beer. Lots of fruity (muscat)grapey hops, faintly lytchee and grapefruit. C-hops galore; bit of ureum. Dry bitter flavour, fruity (grapefruit, muscat) but also dry cookies. Long hoppy-bitter aftertaste, citruspeel, and somewhere a leathery hint. Not very heavy body - which rimes with the claim of high attenuation, as does the high CO² content. Refreshing IIPA, can vie with the Americans.

A Sim rate (bottle thanks to Alex): Sweet, bready nose some peach & apricot. Flavour is bitter hops and a bit of citrus. Unfortunately, I’m rating from the end of the bottle and it’s quite cloudy. Decent beer.
