COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brew bursts with hop character while still achieving a sublime balance due to a firm, robust malt backbone. It is a cross between an English-style and American-style India Pale Ale that is full-bodied and refreshing all at once.

Pours a hazy reddish, amber. Almost like a Weißen with some syrup added. Little head, but it stares at you somehow. Nose is modest, dry grass, malted sweetness. Taste is full with sorachi taking the forefront. Fruitiness, by stone fruits and a strange hint of strawberry. Bone dry hoppy finish. Distinctive and original, but very filling. The lingering sweetness does not invite another order though.

Bottle, 36cl. It’s almost clear in the glass, dark golden in color and topped by a big off-white head leaving lacings. Caramel maltyness, chewing gum and some resin on the nose. It’s a bit sweet on the palate, with a pleasant bitterness level, and some citrus peel. Full-bodied, dryish and nicely carbonated. Lasting bitterness in the finish. I guess this one suffers a bit from the long journey, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 120302

360mL bottle to pint glass Aroma of anise and roasted malts with a hint of dark chocolate and pepper. Pale, slightly cloudy, amber with an average frothy off white head. The flavour is bitter sweet and long lasting. It's very smooth and creamy with low carbonation and bitter finish.

Bottle (Brewdog, Glasgow):
Fruity pine aroma that has a strong hop character and is laced with a solid helping of both spice and bitter notes and is somewhat sour right at the end.
Murky orange/amber colour with a wavy, foamy head that is off-white in colour with tingers of brown in it.
Strong hops to begin with along with mild pine notes and a nice, spicy flavour. There is some definite fruity flavours in the middle, mainly darkert summer fruits and possibly berries along with a further helping of spice.
Medium with a smooth mouthfeel and plenty of spice throughout. There is some bitterness towards the end and the alcohol content doesn’t seem to be hidden well at all, this one seems a lot stronger than the 6% abv. suggests.

Not your typical IPA style beer here and not really one I would class as an America style IPA despite what various sites online say. It wasn’t a bad beer but I felt the alcohol content could have been better hidden.

0.36l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Light gushing out of the bottle, this is a blurry honey-colored one with a lacing off-white head. The aroma is really fruity-sweet and quite delicious! Peachy-sweet with both tropical pineapple and it somehow reminds me of perfume. Really good smelling! It’s average to lively carbonated with a nice oily mouthfeel. Flavors are also really fruity-hoppy with peaches and some light branches. Ends really bitter and almost kinda watery. A tasty, but mostly great smelling one from Japaaaaaaan! 16.06.2012

360ml brown bottle. Dark gold in colour, hazy. Big white head, large bubbles and lots of lacing. Nose has grainy malts, light hay notes, lemon peel. Taste has grains, lemon and grassy hops. Medium bitter finish with lasting grassy and citrusy notes, some yeast and minerals as well. Medium body, soft carbonation. Overall a decent IPA, not very aggressive but still flavourful. Could see this going well with sushi.

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Clear deep golden/copper-hued body, large foamy white head. Aroma is peaches, apricot, caramel malts, hints of honey melon and freshly cut grass. Mild, but very nice. Taste is peaches, apricot, fresh grass. Bitter dry hops in the finish with a medicinal astringency in the finish. A bit too bitter on the aftertaste, otherwise nice. Medium body and carbonation. Starting out very nice, ending up as decent, but not super.

360ml bottle. There is lots of thick fluffy foam in the initial pour and the beer is a robust looking amber copper colour. A little light on aroma for an IPA however the flavour makes up for it with a nice smooth hop flavour and moderate level of bitterness.
