4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Bottle, 330ml and also tap at Alehouse Project. Great beer, complex. Aromas of caramel, cherries, and a hint of pine. Taste is sweet, with balancing bitterness throughout, and very long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy white head.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at a tasting 15th of January 2011. Very surprising, havent had many japanese craft beers, but if they are like this one, give me more!!! More of an english ipa to me, with slightly muted hops, but a very well developed hop and malt combination.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Great IPA, full bodied with loads of hop aroma. Has a nice chewy mouthfeel with plenty of malt flavour there too. I’ve heard a lot about this brewery, they are really maing waves in the craft beer circles and this beer set a pretty high standard.

Good size white head on a dark amber body. Bitter orange on the nose. Dry in the taste with good bitterness though not of lot of body, some grapefruit and orange.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Just your standard but very well made IPA. Glowing orange brown in the glass - very inviting. Nose shows some fruit early but there’s a hint of mineral hoppiness to keep it serious. Much more bitter in the mouth than the nose would suggest and the hops have an almost liquered hint. Very good as per usual from these guys.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy amber pour with a thin offwhite head. Aroma of caramel and fruity, resinous hops. Good flavor of caramel, toasted malt and fruity, resinous hops with some dryness and bitterness along for the ride. The body is light to medium while the carbonation is moderate. This is a well-done, well-balanced IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy golden orange pour with a short, foamy off-white head that quickly shrinks to surface cover. Aroma is quite hoppy with notes of pine, lemon, lime and malty caramel. Flavour is pretty much the same: crisp, refreshing hoppiness with a little malty caramel sweetness, plus a fair amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and slick with reasonably high carbonation and a lingering bittersweet finish. Pretty good IPA overall and a pleasant change from the full-on, fruity brews that are rather common these days.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy earthy brown colour. Beige head with some lacing. Great aromas of sweet malt, caramel and toffee offset and balanced by citrus (grapefruit & lemon) and resiny / graasy hop aromas. Flavours pretty much follow the aromas though with more sweet malt and caramel to offset the hop bitterness. Quite bitter finish. Mouthfeel is quite full and sweet. Great beer and very much looking forward to the others I have waiting in the fridge.
