COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Can there ever be enough permutations of the great India Pale Ale style? Of course not. In this beautifully nuanced, Japanese esthetic-influenced ale, we marry in the conditioning tank ample dosages of earthy-herbal dry hops (Hersbrucker, Styrian Golding, Santiam) with deft additions of whole leaf Shizuoka green tea. The result of this international botanical marriage is, in a word, sublime.
Baird Beer, as you know, is unfiltered and the addition of whole leaf green tea to Wabi-Sabi IPA has contributed a very strong particle sediment. Do not fear or fret, this is all-natural good stuff and it tastes great! You will not find this in a can or mug of your favorite industrial brew.

Pours a nice golden amber colour with a fine frothy head. Strong hoppy aromas. Is a dry bitter style of IPA which is not usually to my liking, but this one seems to work as it has an interesting flavour profile.

a bit lighter body than usual, but nice balance and moderate bitter finish. Half way between an ipa and pale ale.

from the bottle at Hashigo Aroma - earthy, cardboard, spicy hop aroma, slight sticky oily. and gets a bit perfumy as it gets warmer. Apperance - pouring cloudy dull amber with white big head. Taste - taste like chewing the tea leaves, medium bitterness, not much hop flavour. (I’m guessing they added less hops as the beer will get the bitterness from the green tea leaves.) Palate - not big mouth feel, but long finish and more green tea flavour towards the end Quite an odd beer, but I enjoy it.

On tap at the Yokohama taproom. Not remarkable but nevertheless a decent beer. Very soft structure, almost hand pump-like, and a nice cut of stones and minerals to finish. Some lemon and citrus too, albeit faint.

Draught at Tadg’s. Fruity, malty nose, biscuits, pear, plium, citrus, and a bit of tea. Cloudy orange-cold color with lace. Looks like pear juice. Tea comes through very nicely in the mouth, with peach, grapes, grapefruit, nice hops and good balance. Soft body, low carbonation work well. The tea iere works very nicely with the other elements. Great.
