On tap @ Beachwood Brewing. Hazed amber pour with a small white head. Fairly fruity aroma of stone fruit, golden raisin, and orange peels. Lots of sweet caramel and some brown sugar. Slight booze and grassy hops. Flavor has a rather mild bitterness. Kind of dominated by the fruit character and grainy brown sugar. A bunch of caramel malts and some wet grass. Mild citrus rind. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Yancheng. Pours a cloudy gold with no head. The aroma is booze, wheat, caramel. Thin mouth with nice candy sugar malt, booze, caramel, wheat, sweet finish. Good.

Bottle from the taproom in Yokohama, 9%, served in a snifter. I am not all that familiar with this style, it poured a rich copper gold with almost no head - it looks quite IPA like. The aroma is a malty fruitiness followed by a bready biscuit like character before finishing with some light citrusy hops & caramel. Smooth silky mouthfeel & very full bodied. The taste is a bit boozy with lots of fruity malty character that reminds me of english ales... too sweet with lots of caramelized fruit notes followed by bitter hops which give me citrus, pine & grapefruit. I liked the body & mouthfeel, the taste is quite solid but a bit on the sweet side for me. The booze is only noticeable in your stomach where you get some warming. Pretty interesting, a big boozy full bodied sipping beer for IPA lovers.

Draught at Bungalow. Slightly cloudy, light amber with small white head. Sweet aroma of plums, raisins and some marzipan. Follows in the flavour woth some wheat as well. Not too sweet.

Draft to pint glass
Sweet fruit, bubble gum, candy floss. Cloudy amber with a thin white head. Slightly cloudy amber with a thin ring like white head. Sweet fruit and a touch of hoppiness. Quite pleasant.

Draft - Wheat, sweet pale malt, plum and yeast. Cloudy yellow gold with a rich beige head. Plum, apricot, raisin, marzipan and a bit of booze. Never like this style but this is a nice job.

bomber into a tulip
Slightly hazy orange amber color. White ringed collar. Persistent collar. Good ABV legs.
Nose is sweet and sticky dark fruits, raisin, pear and strawberry jam. Lovely nose.
Taste is pear, plumb, honey, and strawberry. Soft at first but builds quite nicely.
Slick and sweet, though not as bold as US or European attempts but quite nice. ABV burn at the very end.

Pours dark amber with a fading head.
Nose shows bready malt, doughy notes, melanoiding malt, sweet candy, figs, sultanas. Lovely.
Very similar flavours. Bready and toasty malt, soft spicy notes, resinous hops, sultanas, port. Very rich.
Could use a bit more carbonation.

An interesting idea this. It poured with plenty of suspended particles and a slow trickle of carbonation. The particles were interesting but not off-putting. A golden colour with a temporary white head. Aromas of dried banana chips, some clove and white pepper, golden syrup and coconut. In the mouth it was rich and oily, sweet with golden syrup again. A lip smacking beer and flavours of orange and mandarin developing toward the finish along with peaches perhaps. I like the idea of a wheat wine, but my companions (noted beer enthusiasts) were a little less intrigued.
