2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Typical unclear, fully golden beer with a surprisingly small head. Very fresh and fruity with notes of peach. Decent all right but lacks the last finesse to be truly great. 260802

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 08/2011)
My first beer from this brewery.
Hazy yellow-orange color, big cloudy white head. Banana, bubblegum and spices (clove) in the nose, lots of esters. Medium-bodied. Soft palate. Sweetish overriped banana, banana candy flavor. Grainy wheatyness and some citrus (with sour notes) in the finish. Standard, well-brewed hefeweizen. For summer terrace!

Frischer hefiger Antrunk, leiderrecht mild. Ein wenig intensiver wird das Bier im Mittelteil, hefiger, wenig helles Malz, im Hintergrund aber leider wässrig. Geringe Herbe, süßlich im Nachhall. 12/7/8/8/8/8

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (courtesy of Quack-Duck!): Hazy, pale golden, quite stable loose white head; moderate citrussy-wheaty nose with a light wheaty touch; moderate sweet-sour flavour, medium bodied, a bit fizzy; short lemony-sourish finish with a tinge of yeast and a little tartness in the aftertaste. O.K., a fresh Weizen......

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle) Cloudy, yellow colour with a big but collapsing frothy white head. Yeasty and moderately sweet wheaty aroma with notes of citrus and lemon, accompanied by cloves and a shy touch of herbal hops. Slightly sweet and minimal sour-tart flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Wheaty and yeasty taste with citrus and a tinge of banana, also shy spicy notes; yeasty wheaty and slightly fruity finish. A bit profane but still likeable Weizen. 02.XII.09

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Banana. lemon. peach, clove aroma. Cloudy yellow-amber color with moderate head. Wheat malt and lemon flavor primarily with lighter banana and clove. Nice body. Tasty Weizen.
Earlier Rating: 4/18/2008 Total Score: 3.5
Bottle. Very sweet banana. orange. peach, clove and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy pale yellow-amber color with large head. Lightly sweet banana, moderately bitter clove and wheat malt. Medium body. A good weizen - just strange that their lower carb weizen (just called Teufels Weisse with a picture of a devil instead of the sun) seemed to have a fuller body and flavor.
