bottle, bought at the brewery. Clear golden colour with a large white head. Very fragrant hoppy nose. Full-bodied, malty and slightly grainy background with lots of fragrant hops, bitter-sweet character. Well-balanced, well-crafted beer.

Odd brownish gold color with a diminished off white head. Herbal infused malt aromas. Light toffee aromas as well. Sweet malt and dough flavors. Mild spicy hops come in late. Not much more to this one.

Danke an ariusz!

In the glass pours a pale yellow beer with a little foam. I would have expected somewhat more darker. It smells spicy and malty, surprisingly, slightly alcoholic. It starts very sweet-malty, with slightly musty hop aroma in background. In the aftertaste the beer is malty and spicy, slightly sweet, subtly fruity. The further course is for a Christmas beer in my opinion a bit too lax. Would be almost gone better as a "Bavarian Helles".

Bottle (kindly deliverd by Q.-D.): Clear, golden, smaller, lacy white head; grainy and herbal-grassy hoppy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering solid bitter-sweet finish with a light fruity (infected?) touch. Not bad and pretty robust......

(bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Sweet grainy pale malty aroma with shy hoppy notes. Slightly sweet and bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Pale malt-character with grainy and shy herbal accents; medium-dry, sweet-bitter shy hoppy finish. A typical German Christmas beer: made to please everyone; anyway a clean and easy-going brew. 19.I.10

Bottle from Quack-Duck, thanks! Blonde. Flour in the aroma. Malty, just a bit buttery, bready flavor with flowery notes. Short aftertaste.

Allen (2469) - SWITZERLAND - NOV 23, 2009
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck. Clear pale golden. Diacetyl, butter and boiled milk in the nose. The hops are sadly subdued by the unpleasant components I mentioned before. Buttery taste which is reminiscent of caramel, boiled milk and slight peanut. Low carbonation. Sweet. Not much bitterness. Unsignificant finish which is reminiscent of butter and caramel. (Residual sugars). Dissapointing in my opinion. Thanks a lot Quack-Duck!
