From tap at the San Lucas location. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt, chocolate and light coffee. Dark roasted malt towards hard roasted acidic. Coffee. Bitter. Slight sweet chocolate touch. Lingering dark roasted malt finish.

Pours thick black/brown with white head, aroma has notes of deep roast, chocolate and caramel. Taste is nice with mixed roast, coffee, chocolate, and a touch of caramel. Mouthfeel is great, creamy and rich. Very nice beer, unexpected in Mexico!

On tap @ Baja Brewing. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and lots of roasted malt. Flavor is lightly sweet with some bitter and sour aspects, very similar to Guinness. Medium body with a creamy mouth feel. More of a dry stout to me than an Oatmeal Stout but I was just happy to drink something besides a pale lager in Mexico.

Sampled at the brewpub. A very dark, almost black, beer with a bit of red highlight. Head is a nice thick tan that has good retention. This is served with nitrogen that minimizes aroma and flavor but in both roasted malt and coffee are in abundance. Dark chocolate is a lesser theme. It is dry and just a bit sour. Some hop. This beer got sweeter as the glass emptied. It is a beer that will remind many of Guiness and is a quality Oatmeal Stout.
