The semi-dark red ale, brewed in the old Czech technology has gentle velvet taste of caramel with the notes of light bitterness. The rich ruby color and thick white foam give to sensations brightness that cannot be forgotten. Refreshes and satisfies thirst in the heat and lights you on parties.

Bottle. Pours clear deep copper, with a generous off-white frothy head.Aroma of caramel, roasted malt. Flavour is on the sweet side, not overwhelming but rather nice balanced with the hops.

Bottle. A clear, copper colored beer with a big, coarse, off-white to beige head. Lacings. The aroma has some dried fruits and caramel, some roasted malt and hops. A bit boring maybe, but quite good. Dried fruits, caramel, some roasted malts and a fine noble bitterness in the mouth. Dry and full-bodied. Slightly roasted, bitter finish. A beer that starts off a bit boring, but turns out to be a fine, pleasant lager with wise use of hops. (090426)

It is dark, red amber with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and light fruit. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of caramel, roasted malt and dry citrus in the finish. It is deliciously malty and yet refreshing and dry, a nice combination.

16.9 oz bottle-Bakalář Light Dark Beer on label. A light amber body with a small ring for a head and an aroma of skunk and soy sauce. Taste of the same with a caramel malt taste on the back end. The skunk taste does not come out. Not bad but not good.

Have not had a light dark beer since Blatz Dark (America’s great light dark beer). True amber color with a thin lid of light beige bubbles. Toasted bread and just a hint of herbal hops with caraway and rosemary. Light brown sugar start with a earthy malt background. Fairly watery at times. Some light spice in the finish and linger. Also a bit of licorice and caramel floating about. Interesting, but not that entertaining.
