Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham. Amber with white head. Quite a drying beer but with a fruity, malty overnote. Lasting on the palate, dry in the close with a reasonable bitterness.

Light chestnut brown...dense white head...good lacing
Aroma - light aroma - light caramel malts...soft berry fruits
Taste - fruity caramel malts, berries, light blackcurrant, soft toffee, bit biscuity in the background, but unusual
Palate - medium body, soft carb, quite viscous. Finish as main flavour with more biscuit in the tail.
Overall - A nice soft and mellow bitter...good condition at the pub - I liked this one

Cask, King’s Head, Carlisle. Nutty brown beer, with a decent bitterness, especially in the aftertaste. Has a hint of smoke and fruit in the flavour, some tanginess and it’s a touch metallic. A standard English ’premium’ bitter.
