In colour and smell this is quite a good beer, though it smells a bit alcoholic. The beer was lacking a bit in taste.

Cloudy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, spicy and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Light dry finish with some alcohol. 030710

Bevuta in bottiglia si presenta molto bene colore ambrato moltolimpido con schiuma fine. Si sente solamente il profumo di caramello e in bocca risulta essere un pò dolcina senza lasciare nessun particolare retrogusto.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2011 Draft. Poured into a small Snifter. Color is a slightly murky tannish caramel color. Lots of dark fruit notes (prune, raisin, etc) in the nose along with some caramel. Medium mouthfeel. Caramel sweet start with dark fruit sweetness and a touch of tangy, sour/tart. Booze evident and warms slightly. Overall, not bad and good to see a good bee coming out if Italy!

Bottle. Pours cloudy apricot. Cream white head. Nose and taste of yeast, candi sugar, tangerine rind and peppermint. Phenolic alcohol in background.

Le liquide est légèrement ambré et passablement voilé par les sédiments. La mousse se détend rapidement et forme un anneau. Le nez est axé sur la douceur avec un malt coulant, des effluves de bonbons sucrés, un alcool au doux parfum de fleurs et des fruits ensoleillés. Le goût est tout près des arômes avec des saveurs maltées très douces, raffinées par un sucre candi, touchées par un nectar de pêches et bien effleurées par l’alcool. En bouche, le liquide est un peu balourd. Sa texture est belle, liquoreuse, à l’extrême limite collante. Le pétillement du liquide sauve la mise en allégeant son opulence. La finale sucrée est poivrée par un alcool chaud.

Bouteille de 750ml, belle forme, capsule de métal avec fond de plastique. Bière cuivrée, peu de mousse, sans grande rétention. Le nez est de pomme enrobée de caramel, très sucré et invitant. En bouche la bière est de malt, agréable, une touche de houblon. Bonne longueur, final en sirop d’érable, dans la ligné de barley wine plus que de belgian strong ale. j’aime.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy dark copper color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with notes of fruity ester and light warming alcohol. Taste is also a mix between some heavy Belgian malt with lots of candi sugar and some fruity ester. Sweetness is maybe a bit too much overwhelming but enjoyable nonetheless. Body is about average with good carbonation. Interesting too sweet for my taste.
