Bottle. Called "Al-Iksir". Hazy orange-amber with a short, white head. Aroma is candied fruit, sweet malt, light spice, yeast, and flowers. Taste is bigger spice, sweet malts, candy, ripe fruit, dusty yeast, and fresh flowers. Body is medium and very bubbly. Strong carbonation and prickly in spots. Ends with more ripe fruit, candied notes, sweet malt, light grains, spice, lightly bitter hops, flowers and yeast. Rather tasty but the $19.99 price tag isn’t quite justified.

Tap at redlight. Pours a transparent dark amber with a white head that fades slowly, but does go away after a while. Aromas of fruits, some malt, booze. Taste is rich malts, some funk, some interesting fruity-ness and alc burn in the finish.

Draft – Max’s. Hazy gold, thin white head. Fresh soap bar aromas ride a light foundation of pineapple cotton candy and honeyed fuzzy fruit. Candied apricot and peach tones mingle with flavors of bready lavender throughout. Light bodied, soft carbonation, fruity finish. Strange and truly unpleasant…

Al-iksir. Slightly hazy amber-orange pour. No head. The nose is quite intense. A candyish sweetness and a fairly heavy spicy nose. Lots of heavy cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet date honey. Plummy and a little bit floral on the back. Rich and spicy along with a bit of toastiness. Sweet and a bit chewy although it isn’t cloying. Lots of honey and spice and perhaps a bit of wheatiness as well. Orange peel and a little bit of cherry. Really quite interesting and a great holiday beer. It tastes like winter.
