0.75 L bottle from Systembolaget, Nordstan. One finger og beige, big bubbled foam over a near-clear, dark orange colored body. Pleasant aroma of fresh, fruity yeast including sweet tangerines and oranges. A fresh citric and floral fruitiness in the flavor as well. Discreet, caramelly malt flavor. Prickling, champagne-like mouthfeel. Some warming alcohol. Finishes with a fine fruity dryness. Moreish, and extremely easy drinking.

Beershine (4561) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JAN 15, 2010
Bottle found in Hong Kong City Super. Pours a burnt orange color with a foamy tan head that fades fast. Smells sweet and yeasty with exotic fruits and honey. Juicy palate with lively carbonation. Strength is apparent in the finish of the brew but its smooth. Sweet but enough body to back it up. The lemon and honey finish is quite nice!

Listed as Al-Iksir. Comes to me a bit still. Has a light halo lacing. The beer is thick looking, cannot see through it, low clarity, Aroma is akin to a thick barleywine (with slick malts) and some apple skins (coming off the alcohol). Has a slick and thick mouthfeel with reduced carbonation, which works well with the structure of the beer. The flavor is similar with a lot of apple skins maltiness. Its a good sipper
Draft at Ginger Man, served in a snifter.

750 ml bottle sampled@RBNAG 2009, Vatlandsvåg. Hazy orange body with a thin off-white head. Aroma is fruity, yeast, spices, alcohol and some acidity. The impression is surprisingly light and refreshing at a 10% ABV beer. Light malty with some caramel, oranges, warming alcohol, spicy and some fruity acid. Well balanced all the way with a nice bitter finish, quite fascinating.

(Bottle) Orangey amber colour, slightly hazy, with brief foamy beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of orange peel, peaches, apricots, toffee, a touch of treacle and flowers. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, dried fruit, apricots, peaches, soft crystal malt and slightly peppery, spicy hops in the finish. A puff of alcohol comes through in the end. More than medium body, but surprisingly drinkable and refreshing for its strength. Balanced sweetness. Very tasty and well balanced beer. Excellent.

Listed as al-Iksir. Get it? Chestnut color with an edge head only, and slight lacing. Aroma of butterscotch. Flavor begins with scotch whisky, then progresses to butterscotch and spice. Good body. Definitely an interesting beer.

Found at CitySuper, Tsim Sha Tsui. Orangey-brown. Grapey-raisiny, quite yeasty on the nose with a muscular alcohol note. I wouldn’t exactly call it refined but it has potential to be fun. Rich, syrupy fruity - candied and jellied things - along with a doughy, yeasty note. The finish continues with the sweet/fruity dynamic and introduces to this some alcohol dryness. Not great, but a good, interesting beer.
