COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A demi-sec ale brewed with whiskey yeasts, from the island of Islay, creating striking dryness and lively effervescence. The nose showcases almond and tropical fruits. The palate is malty, with flavors of plum, dried apricot, and spice. It’s finish is dry and warming from the high alcohol. Rare on tap!

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours cloudy golden with a rich and attractive eggshell head and a fruity cardomom aroma. There is an unusual fruit flavor that could be cherry or citrus with a slightly sour peppery finish. Very complex and tasty.

A Mes rate: Bottle at GBBF.
A gorgeous clean amber colour with an impressive thick and stable white head. Massive pineapple in the aroma (and I love pineapple) along with some almond like alcohol and some lovely tropical fruit hops that could almost be Sauvin. The flavour is along the same lines but it held back by some all too apparent burnt malt. Biiiiiig fruity finish with lots of sugar brings it back on track. I like this,

Bottle, 75cl, at RBNAG -09. Courtesy of OleR. It’s an almost entirely clear beer, golden in color, with an orange tint. The head is a finger-thick off-white to beige one, soon gone. Vinous, sherry-like nose with dried apricots, tropical fruits juice, alcohol and some spice notes. The flavor has some acidity to go with the sherry-like flavors and dried fruits. Alcohol and a hint of spices, as well as tropical fruits juice blend in nicely. Quite warming alcohol finish. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated, warming the throat on it’s way down. A nice beer indeed, but I think the alcohol is too evident, even for a 10% ABV beer. 091108

(Bottle) Orangey amber colour, slightly hazy, with brief foamy beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of orange peel, peaches, apricots, toffee, a touch of treacle and flowers. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, dried fruit, apricots, peaches, soft crystal malt and slightly peppery, spicy hops in the finish. A puff of alcohol comes through in the end. More than medium body, but surprisingly drinkable and refreshing for its strength. Balanced sweetness. Very tasty and well balanced beer. Excellent.

75cl bottle @ YNWA. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head and lacings. Nose is yeasty and fruity. Some herbs and lots of citrus/orange. Full bodied. Warm, spicy and fruity. Brilliant Belgium yeast notes. Yum. Alcohol well hidden.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a slightly cloudy amber with a thin white head. Nose has some sour and yeast notes. Vey smooth and slightly hoppy almost sour ale. I say almost sour because there are only hints of it. But some nice hop notes and a nice bitter finish.
