COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Blended version of Lune. Barley Wine aged in white wine barrel. Limited (brewed once).

Bottle. Copper, looks a bit like cognac, not completely clear, minimal white head that disappears instantly. Aroma: vinous, fruity, mandelmassa, floral, a hint of solvent. Taste: honey, mead, wood, chocolate coated marzipan - in fact like something from Anton Berg, red berries, grapes. Full bodied, still. Different and tasty.

Sampled from a 0.75l bottle @ Gaasa. This is a headless clear blurry golden one. It has a really interesting aroma that’s quite dominated by beef stock, exotic nuts, soy sauce, rutabaga and that’s about it. Really different and highly enjoyable. Soft to flat on the carbonation and lovely sticky on the mouthfeel. Just as interesting flavors. Its heavy nutty, lots of Asian sesame seeds, caramel and sweet sticky dates. Really different and exciting. Not to mention tasty! 01.03.2013

Courtesy of Jan (fonefan), parallel with Terre
Amber color. Very nice aroma, luscious, malt, wood, some bourbon, light tobacco; more elegant than the aroma of Terre. Strong body, round mouthfeel; sweet but not syrupy; good malt flavor, with light fruity accent, raisins and quite evident alcohol; there is more oak and vanilla character than wine character.
Very good, but a bit rough.

Pours hazy amber red with no head. Aroma of white wine, some fruit and yeast. Taste is sweet of wine, prunes, caramel, vanilla. Full body and there is so much flavors. No carbonation. The taste is much better than the smell because there is to much wine in the aroma. I have never tasted anything like this before.

750ml Bottle - Copper/amber in colour. Fruitcake, malt, sultanas and caramel in the aroma. Nutty and sweet taste with notes of pecan nuts, walnuts, chestnuts and caramel popcorn. Quite nice at first, but the nuttiness becomes a bit sickly after a while.

From the bottle at Open Baladin, Roma - 04/10/12. Hazy dark amber with no head, some bubbles at the edge of the glass. Big wood tones on the nose, figs, prunes, dried fruit, vanilla and some smoke. Complex and rich taste, the alcohol is well disguised, sweet toffee, fruit, dates, prunes, figs, caramel and grapes. Full bodied, no carbonation, smooth.

In short: A sweet, sticky and woody amber liquor some bubbles. Acceptable sipper
How: From a bottle at Mondial De La Bière 2012
The look: Clear burnt amber body with almost no head
In long: Nose is sweet, a bit woody and with some alcohol fumes. This smells more like a hard liquor than a beer. Taste is more of the same. Lots of caramel and toffee sweetness, wood barrel aged hard-liquor sensation (rum, brandy, etc.), concentrate sweet fruit juice, minimal carbonation, viscous and sticky mouthfeel, alcohol warmth. Surprisingly no sign (to me) of the wine barrels used to make the beer. This ‘drink’ felt more a like a softly carbonated liquor than a beer. Not very good but somehow drinkable, much more than its sister Terre Riserva Teo Musso 2010. Another top-rated sweet boozy boring beer… ok people, that’s enough, I’m gonna count to three and then everybody stop over-rating boozy sweet beers.
