COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

GBBF 2003, bottle: Very complex overall in all respects, though I'm not sure if I'm convince of its success. Starts with a spicy, complex nose of fresh hops, corriander, and over-ripe fruit. Darky cloudy gold color (like a Weizen). Fresh, mouth-filling malt body. Taste of peaches, apricots that falls off quickly. No sign of cherries, but I know they are there. One of the most complex beers I've ever had. It's everything at once: chicory, coriander, fruit, hips, malt, sugar, etc. Wow.

Bottle. GBBF2003 (kriek tasting session). Hazy pink red, low head and moderate condition. Big spicy corriander and melon fruit nose, more corriander in the mouth with more fruit (this time peach). Quite dry and thin in the finish. Few obvious cherry notes except for the colour, but a good spicy wheaty beer, like Hoegaarden brewed with Weihenstephan yeast.

GBBF 2003 - brewed just for the tutored tasting of Lorenzo Dabove - thank you: Grapes nose, also koriander, yeast, apricot, pepper - very spicey indeed. Hazy orange colro, little foamy head. Refrehsing short sweet introduction, falls off the top then. Peach and Quickorree, finish goes by fast. I wanna try it again sometime.

Totally hazy orange. Orange-coloured, 1/2 cm thick head, relatively stable. Very spicy nose, ginger, orange zest, undefined spices (they tell me gentian, in fact all the Wayan spices). No kriek, or cherries. "Farmyard" flavours, ginger, spicy, rosemary. No kriek. End of the bottle is solid suspension of yeast and other stuff. What IS this?? Mouthfeel a bit burning form the spices, no fruitacids. Again rosemary, even lavender in the aftertaste. This is like an Italian (?) interpretation of "Farmyard ale". Whatever this is, it ain't kriek - but the brewer maintains, it's gonna change character after six months lagering. Oh well.
