Cloudy blond color. This beer has a character of puke, straws, yeast. Bottle shock or real poor beer?

2012-06-17, bottle from Eataly, Bologna; Raccolta Luppolo 2011, 4.5% ABV, 7-4-7-3-14=35
Cloudy bond color with creamy white head, persistent. Mild aroma, some spicy malt and fruity hop, apricots. The mouthfeel is quite astringent because of the high yeast presence; spicy malt flavor, very Belgian, with a moderately sweet and fruity final.
Yeasty and spicy Ale.

Hazy golden color. Light chalk white head. The nose is fairly eatery and I would say they are going for a Belgian blonde. Nice crisp hop notes with solid yeast character, definetely aiming for Belgian Blonde. Satisfying hoppy finish. Nice.

Bottle from systembolaget. Smell of wheat, sweet and citrusy and a bit dry. Pours hazy orange with a rich white head. Taste has dry wheat and sweet subtle citrus and some oranges. Surprisingly full in body for a blonde ale. It places itself nicely in the mouth. Overall a really nice, fresh and tasteful beer.

Lovely blonde belgian style ale. Flavor of a Tripel but a lighter body. A bit murky, possibly this has a bit of wheat in the recipe. Less carbonation than most Belgians too, but otherwise very similar in terms of look and flavor.

Cerveza rubia con una espuma blanca con textura de mousse. Bastante artesanal. Presencia de levadura, cuerpo medio y turbio. Ligeramente especiada, romero, también cítrica, y fondo amargo. Buen equilibrio de gas.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Hazy, bright orange beer with a frothy white head. Yeasty and fruity aroma. Flavour is dry with yeast, spices and light maltiness. Quite bitter too. Somehow not really my cup of tea.

My Bottom Line:
Coriander and bergamot are well balanced within delicately honeyed malts in a refined, silky mouthfeel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam falls into the clear golden.
-Aniseed or licorice appear too when warming.
-Bergamot helps the taster imagine social tea cookies in the finish.
-I don’t understand why they advertise this as being all Italian malt and hops when the dominant aromas and flavours are all coriander and bergamot. Whatever, it’s still a very well made brew and nicely drinkable.

On tap at Open Baladin Roma.
