Aroma initially characterized by pepper that fight in a field ruled by a rich fruity fragrance of dried fruits with ripen banana, toffee and a soft sweet chocolate fragrance. The attentive taster shouldn’t miss a sharp floral of rose and a sensation of must of wine always pleasant.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2014 750ml bottle poured in a mug. A: Pours a deep dark amber color. Many particles floating. Head is beige and bubbled. Medium size, small retention and practically no lacings S: Sweet. Caramel, caramel malts, dark fruits (mainly raisins). Yeasts and flowery hops T: Caramel malts, yeasts and dark fruits. Mild sweet upfront. Moderated bitter aftertaste. Some alcoholic notes in the end. An authentic Belgian strong dark ale :) M: Medium body and carbonation. Lighter than I was expecting from a 9% ale. Good sweet-bitterness balance O: High drinkability. My favorite Italian brewery [ BA Review @ 1/3/2012 ]

Bottle sample from backlog notes. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, toffee, dried fruit, raisins, hints of cocoa, decent, but I would pass in the future.

Pearl dark with not to much foam. Coffee taste with almond very very soft taste. Doesn’t hit with its alcohol

Tasted several in these years, now in teku. Pours a small to medium off-white head, colur is a hazy deep dark mahogany brown. Nose is malty, dried fruits, dark chocolate, toffee, yeasts, wooded forest, nice. Initially has a medium and pleasent, sweetness, followed by a a constant overtaking delicate licoricy/bitter note, which leaves a great balanced and clean bittersweet finish. Taste is caramel malts, dark fruits, nuts, woody, clove, earthy spices. More on the sweet side for sure, but with just the right amount of bitterness. Medium bodied, nice amount of carbonation, well balanced and smooth. Great for Xmas, and for some food pairings (bbq, red meat, game meat). Nice strong dark belgian

from bottle at mondial 2014, mtl. unclear light brown, orange tint, with a small light beige head, some retention and lacing. sweetish dark toasted malts, dark golden candi, maple and brown sugar, coffee grings, bitter herbs, very spicy - apple and cinnamon. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily, semi-sweet and grassy-spicy typical belgian finish. nicely done christmas belgian strong ale even though my cup of tea.

Very nice beer. This is my first beer from baladin, and it’s really great. It’s very smooth and tastefull. It’s the beer for cold winter evenings. It’s easydrinking. It has beautifull aroma from spices, and great, deep taste
