Cittadinu (2), Italy does not count Feb 11, 2007 Colore bruno opaco, schiuma compatta, gusto millefluo, avvolgente e persistente.Ottima! thewolf (3651), Kolding, Denmark Nov 2, 2007 Bottle. on ØJ-dag. @ YNWA, Kolding
Pours a deep red with lots of bubbles in the liquid. Head is creamy, off white and stays for quite some time. Sweet aroma, light strawberries and a roasted spicyness. Full, lively and still a bit oily mouthfeel. Flavour is dominated by slightly burned caramel, apples, chocolate, strawberries, toffee, cinnamon, coriander and cardemum. The spices never ’take over’, lying perfactly balanced in the back. Lightly dry and spicy sweet aftertaste. The Etruscan (262), Tuscany, Italy Feb 22, 2002 Very lasting head. Color is dark bright red. Aroma is fruity with a bit alcohol note. Despite alcohol content (9%) taste is very balanced with initally fruity and floral flavour, ending in a lightly chocolat and toasty finish. Medium-full bodied. MartinKubert (862), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 26, 2003 A very nice brew. Some alcoholic notes combined with something burned (sugar, caramel?). Nice malty dryness at first in the flavour. Bitter chocolate and dry cocoa in end of flavour and palate. A little sharp, could wait a couple of years... Voivod (304), Como, Italy Mar 28, 2003 Pale brown colour, cloudy appereance, with visible yeast particles. The head is bubbly and thin, but really persistent. This beer has a high carbonation, really strange for a Belgian strong style. The flavour is delicate and smooth with the alcohol well hidden and good roasted malts notes, with hazelnut, liquorice, caramel and plums traces. The aftertaste is yeasty (in the glass remains a big yeast sediment), spicy (pepper) and quite bitter. This beer can compete with some of the best Belgian beers!
